14 August 2007– Thurrock 2 Lewes 3

Simon Wormull's 88th minute thunderbolt brought him his second goal of the evening, and secured three points for his side as the Rooks came from a goal down after only two minutes to record a deserved victory.

New signing Anthony Barness made his debut at left back in the only change from Saturday's starting eleven, with Dale Binns moving forwards to more familar surroundings on the left wing in the absence of bug ridden Kirk Watts.  His team mates could not have made a worse start, as Tim Cole headed the home side in front from a left wing corner before some of the crowd had even taken their seats.

However as the half progressed the visitors began to turn the screw, and ater Paul Booth and Andy Drury had both gone close to equalising, a foul in the box on Gary Holloway after 34 minutes gave Booth the chance to level from the spot, an opportunity which he did not pass up.

After the break the Rooks were once again in the ascendancy, and after Booth had been brilliantly denied a second by Thurrock 'keeper Shane Gore, Wormull exchanged passes with the big striker on the hour before sweeping in a lovely goal to make it 2-1.  More chances came and went, and it looked like it might prove costly when against the run of play, Fola Orilonishe headed home a cross from the left at the far post to level the scores once more.  However Wormull was not done, and with just two minutes remaining he made space for himself before unleashing a 25 yarder which flew into the corner of the net.

Lewes: Williams, Conroy, Barness, Robinson, Simpemba, Selley, Wormull, Holloway, Binns, Drury (Cade 83), Booth (O'Connor 83).
