The first half was a very even affair played at an extremely high tempo, with little by way of goalmouth action. The home side had the best opporuntity of it when impressive winger Shaun Batt found himself clean through, but 'keeper Steve Williams guessed right and made a fine save at his feet as he tried to go round him.
However after the break it was a very different story, with the visitors upping their game and taking just four minutes of the second period to get their noses in front, courtesy of a far post header by Ian Simpemba from a Drury free kick from the right. From then on the result was never in doubt, with Paul Booth lobbing just over before Matt Groves doubled the lead from close range, after he had initially flicked on a corner from the left before the ball fell at his feet as he lay on the ground.
With eight minutes remaining Drury unleashed a superb effort from fully 30 yards which flew into the corner of the net, and with Eastbourne Borough in Setanta Shield action, the visitors were able to stretch their lead at the top on a ground whwre they had conceded 13 goals in their previous three visits.
