Andy Drury was in sublime form, scoring a hat trick as the Rooks cantered to victory and thus maintained their six point lead ahead of Tuesday's rematch with Eastbourne Borough.

Boss Steve King made one change from Boxing Day's starting eleven, with Gary Holloway effectively replacing Matt Groves with his return to central midfield which saw Simon Wormull switch to the right, allowing Drury a free role just behind top scorer Paul Booth.

The first 25 minutes were relatively uneventful on a blustery afternoon, but after that it was pretty much one way traffic, with Drury at the heart of almost everything that was good about the home side's performance.  He had already headed narrowly wide when he got on the end of a Jay Conroy cross from the right just past the half hour mark, and his diving header was perfectly placed into the far corner.

Four minutes later Steve Williams' long punt downfield sailed over the heads of the Havant centre halves, forcing visiting 'keeper Kevin Scriven to venture outside his area to clear under pressure from the onrushing Drury.  He looked to have done enough to avert the danger, but he had reckoned without Wormull, whose perfectly executed first time chip from near the dug outs made it 2-0.

After the break the Rooks remained in complete control of proceedings, and after Drury had made it 3-0 on 55 minutes with a neat turn and left fott shot into the roof of the net, he completed his hat trick with an hour gone, arriving right on cue at the far post to sidefoot home a Dale Binns cross from the left.

Substitutes Groves, Leon Legge and Jamie Cade, the only three the Rooks could name with Derek Duncan and Paul Kennett both ill, all got onto the field for the last 25 minutes, and after Drury had struck the inside of a post with a curling left foot effort, Cade was inches away from a fifth with a shot which flew across the face of Scriven's goal and just wide of his left hand post.
