Dale Binns was in fine form, scoring for the second time in four days and setting up two more as the Rooks maintained their six point lead at the top of the Conference South table.

Boss Steve King made two changes from the starting eleven which had booked a place in the semi-finals of the sussex Senior Cup on Tuesday night.  Andy Drury was ruled out through injury, so Simon Wormull started on the right, and Hamid Barr made his first start alongside the recalled Paul Booth as Paul Kennett dropped to the bench, and Jean-Michel Sigere also missed out through injury.

Tha game was over as a contest within the first ten minutes, as the visitors flew out of the blocks and quickly established a three goal lead.  With just three minutes gone, Wormull's spectacular long range effort was tipped onto the bar, but Binns was first to the loose ball, and squared it unselfishly to allow Paul Booth the easiest of finishes from the edge of the six yard box.

Three minutes later it was 2-0, as Gary Holloway's strong challenge in the centre circle on former Lewes defender Francis Duku saw the ball break kindly into the path of Booth, and he raced into the penalty area before squaring to allow Barr to slide home his first goal for the club.

Binns started and finished the move which effectively sealed the three points after only ten minutes, picking the ball up deep inside his own half and arriving right on cue seconds later to sweep home a Booth pass from near the penalty spot.

The rest of the half was relatively uneventful by comparison, but after the break the home side fought hard to get back into the game, and were handed a lifeline in the 54th minute when Ian Simpemba was harshly adjudged to have handled in the area.  However 'keeper Steve Williams made a fine save low to his left to keep out Omari Coleman's penalty before also smothering the rebound.

Coleman missed another good chance shortly afterwards as the Rooks continued to give their opponents hope, but having missed a good opportunity to make it 4-0 when unable to convert Wormull's cross, Gary Holloway did get on the scoresheet with eight minutes remaining after Binns had hit the post at the end of another lightning fast counter attack.

Lewes: Williams, Conroy, Hamilton (Barness 74), Robinson, Simpemba, Wormull, Davis (Kennett 85), Holloway, Binns, Barr (Groves 61), Booth.
