Boss Steve King had to make a late change to his planned starting eleven, when Simon Wormull's ankle injury flared up again in the warm-up, and with Paul Kennett unavailable, Andy Drury moved to the centre of midfield and Jamie Cade came in on the right.
The visitors lit up the game with a superb display of passing almost from the first whistle to the last, but the Rooks' fantastic work rate restricted them to just one meaningful chance all evening, when the immaculate Michael Jordan had to race quickly off his line to save at the feet of substitute Shaun Batt late in the second half.
At the other end chances were also at a premium, but the introduction of Leon Legge with ten minutes remaining proved decisive. With time running out, Drury sent over a free kick from the left to the far post, where Fisher 'keeper Danny Knowles could not hold it under pressure from Legge, and Booth pounced on the loose ball to slot home from an acute angle and leave the home side needing to beat Dorchester on Saturday to clinch the title and promotion to the Conference National with two games to spare.
