19 April 2008– Lewes 2 Dorchester T 0

Substitute Jean-Michel Sigere's goal a minute from time was the icing on the cake as the Rooks clinched the Blue Square South title with a win on a historic day at the Pan.

Rooks boss Steve King named the same starting eleven as for the win three days earlier against Fisher.  However there was little by way of goalmouth action in the first half, with the visitors' determined approach and 4-5-1 formation denying the home side space in which to create anything worthwhile by way of clear cut goalscoring opportunities.

After the break it was Dorchester who had the first real chance to break the deadlock, but Jake Smeeton failed to hit the target from close range, and this was ultimately to prove very costly.  On 66 minutes substitute Anthony Barness and Dale Binns exchanged passes down the left flank, and Booth rose majestically to steer Barness' inch-perfect cross past 'keeper Francisco Ramos and send the packed crowd into raptures.

After replacing the ever industrious Matt Groves, Sigere missed two excellent chances to make the game safe, whilst at the other end there were a couple of nervous moments as news filtered through of Eastbourne Borough's equaliser in south Wales.  However with time almost up, man of the match Andy Drury swung over a corner from the left, Booth flicked it on, and the Frenchman pounced to provide the perfect end to a momentous afternoon.

Lewes: Jordan, Conroy, Hamilton (Barness 60), Simpemba, Robinson, Cade (Barr 85), Drury, Holloway, Binns, Booth, Groves (Sigere 67).
