Lewes manager Steve Ibbitson was named 2009 Lewes Personality of the Year at the prestigious Fatstock Dinner on Wednesday night.

Steve, who is not only manager of the first team but is an important member of the club's Management Committee, was the runaway winner in the poll which was organised and presented by Viva Lewes and is deserved recognition for all his hard work since taking over the manager's role last March.

Having seen his side beat Eastleigh in their FA Trophy replay, Steve had to sprint up to the Town Hall although he obviously arrived too late to enjoy the dinner.The Personality Award presentation was held back for his benefit, but Steve made a very humble and generous acceptance speech which was well received by the audience.
