Blue Square Bet League football will be back on TV next week after the announcement of a new deal.

The Football Conference Board has agreed a three year Television Broadcasting contract with Premier Sports TV, a subscription based broadcast Company, to screen 30 Blue Square Premier matches per season for the 2010/11, 2011/12 & 2012/13 seasons.

A brave performance from the Lewes Under 18 side wasn't enough to see them through to the final of the Ryman Youth League Cup final following a 1-0 defeat at Brentwood last night.

A tense game saw both sides struggle to gain the upperhand, and extra time came as little surprise. However, Brentwood went ahead in the 93rd minute through Robbie Rees leaving the Rooks with a mountain to climb…

Peter Ward dons his football boots this Friday evening at the Dripping Pan to star in a charity match between fans of Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.

The two sets of supporters forget their off-pitch rivalry for this fundraising evening on behalf of the Robert Eaton Memorial Fund. Robert lost his life in the World Trade Centre on 9/11 and this annual match is played in his memory…

Lewes youngster Tim Rivers scored a goal and provided an assist in England Schools Centenary Shield victory against Scotland this evening at Carlisle United.

Lewes boosted their chances of league survival with an Easter Monday win over Bromley at the Dripping Pan.

When the two sides met in August, a physical Bromley side brushed aside the Rooks' challenge, running out 3-0 winners, but the visitors were a shadow of their former selves, with Lewes even afforded the luxury of a 20th minute penalty miss…

A fine display from Rikki Banks still wasn't enough to prevent Woking doing the double over the Rooks at the Kingfield Stadium.

Banks made a succesion of saves to keep his side involved but he still was unable to prevent Woking taking a first half lead when Craig Faulconbridge headed home in the 20th minute…

Lewes draw a blank at Stortford

Lewes drew their third consecutive away trip against Bishop Stortford on Saturday, but with Worcester also drawing at home to St Albans, there was no change to the league placings at the foot of the Blue Square South.

One positive note for the Rooks was Weston's defeat at Dorchester, which meant that the gap between 20th and 21st place increased by two points, with Lewes now six points ahead with a game in hand…


Agnew to step down

Following this evening's County Cup Final, Jacquie Agnew has announced that she will step down as manager of the Ladies squad the end of the season after seven years at the helm.

Her decision calls time on a hugely successful era and she leaves the club at its highest ever position in the football league.

The Rooks marginally shaded the first half, with good chances falling to Ross Sutton and Anthony Barness, but the home side failed to cause any real danger to the Hawks defence…

Sussex Senior Cup tie to be replayed

The Sussex FA has ordered Lewes and Hastings United to replay the recent Sussex Senior Cup tie owing to an ineligible player fielded by Hastings.

Ross Treleaven scored during the replay at the Pilot Field on 9th February, and also netted one of the penalties in the shoot-out which Hastings won 7-6…


Ladies reach County Cup final

Lewes Ladies earned a place in the County Cup final for the second season running following this afternoon's 4-0 victory over Crawley Wasps at the Dripping Pan.

Goals from Kirstie Spice, Charlotte Bennett and a brace from Emma Millington mean that Lewes will defend the trophy in a repeat of last year's final against Brighton & Hove Albion on the 18th March…


Havant breached in injury time

Man of the Match Chris Breach got the goal he and his team mates deserved this afternoon with a 94th minute equaliser at Westleigh Park.

Havant looked to be heading for their fifth straight home league win until Breach converted David Wheeler's late cross, but it was testament to the spirit and courage of this Lewes team who battled all the way and were the best side for much of the second period…

Most lads his age would be looking forward to a few days in Malaga for entirely different reasons, but Lewes Under 18 striker Tim Rivers will be heading to Spain in a few weeks time to play football, as part of the England Schools squad.

Following in the footsteps of current Lewes team mate David Wheeler and former Rook Matt Whitehead, who has won a place for the second season running, Tim has been involved in trials since the autumn and found out the news a week ago…

This Saturday's Farmer's Market down the Cliffe will have a new addition - an appearance from Lewes FC.

A number of supporters have volunteered to add a bit of variety to the beeswax candles and organic carrots normally found at the market and will be selling tickets for the forthcoming beer festival, as well as attempting to create interest and awareness of the football club in general amongst the Saturday morning shoppers…

A dramatic end to the FA Trophy game at Kidderminster Harriers saw Lewes score two late goals to draw level, before a heartbreaking stoppage time winner from the home side.

With five players missing through injury or being cup-tied, the Rooks struggled to make an impact and Kidderminster took an early lead in the 11th minute when Robbie Matthews' freekick took a deflection off the Lewes wall to wrong-foot Lewes keeper Rikki Banks…

Lewes FC makes final appeal for help

Lewes FC is hoping to celebrate its 125th anniversary later this year, but there are serious fears that it might not reach that milestone as it prepares to fight for survival at the High Court again next Wednesday.

The club faces an HM Revenue and Customs winding-up petition for outstanding monies of £48,000. The case has been adjourned twice since the summer to allow more time to pay off the original £110, 000 debt, during which time the club has been paying £10,000 per month.
