Tim on target for England Friday 26 February 2010
Lewes striker Tim Rivers made history this afternoon, becoming the first Lewes FC player to score for England.
Not content with one goal though, Tim scored twice for England Schools against Northern Ireland in the first match of the Centenary Shield tournament.
England had forged a 4-0 lead by half time, thanks in part to two goals from Tim, one ending a move through the defence and the other, a cool finish after taking advantage of some slack defending.
Northern Ireland pulled a goal back after half time but it was little more than a consolation. England next play against Wales in a fortnight when Tim will no doubt be looking to add to his England tally.
