Lewes FC will be making a number of changes to its elite girls’ pathway next season.

The U16s and U14s teams will continue to play in the Junior Premier League following a disrupted first season in the division.

From Season 2021-22 we will be merging the U18s team currently playing in the London and South East Regional Women’s Division 1 South with the Development Squad, currently in the FA Women’s National League Reserves Section South. The new team spanning the 16-21 age-group will play in the latter competition.

See below for information on how to register for trials on Sunday June 27.

The new set-up allows us to consolidate resources and bring in additional new support networks which will include:

• Training on the home 3G twice/week

• Filming of games and increased video analysis

• Greater focus on Strength & Conditioning, nutrition, and sports psychology.

• Access to club physiotherapy

• Individual Player Development Plans

We will be saying goodbye to U18s Head Coach Kelly Newton who has spent 13 years at the club, as player and captain of our women’s first team and much-loved coach of our U18s team. Assistant Coach Charlie Carter will also be departing the club. We thank both for their commitment and dedication over recent years and wish them well in their next challenges.

We will also be saying goodbye to Development Squad Head Coach Lewis Singleton who joined the club in 2019. We thank Lewis for his dedication and hard work since arriving and his willingness to support others around the club environment. We wish him success in his next steps.

We will be recruiting a new Development Squad coach and assistant coach to lead the newly configured team for next season. The job description and details on how to apply can be found here.

Trials for all three pathway teams will take place on Sunday June 27 (10am U14s, 1pm U16s, 4pm Development Squad). If you or your daughter would like to register your interest for the trials, please complete this form here by June 20.
