The Board of Directors is delighted to announce that, effective today, Lynne Burrell is the new General Manager of Lewes FC Women.

Lynne has been Assistant General Manager for the last two years and has proved a huge asset to the club. In addition, she has led the club’s focus on safeguarding, taking our thinking and approach in this area to a new level and providing pastoral support to players and staff.

Lewes FC Chair Stuart Fuller said, “It is with great pride that Lynne has accepted this role. Lynne combines the utmost professionalism with a genuine and deep interest in the wellbeing and development of those around her. She’s tough as nails in negotiations - nobody represents the club’s interests more fiercely –but is also unerringly compassionate and considerate in her dealings with staff and players. It’s a rare combination and we recognise how lucky we are to have Lynne at Lewes FC.”

LewesFC CEO Maggie Murphy said, “Lynne and I have worked exceptionally closely over the last two years, and I can say with certainty that she will be an outstanding General Manager. Any player or staff member will tell you how transformative Lynne has been to the way they feel treated and valued. She has had a major positive impact at Lewes FC already, and I'm excited to see her influence develop and grow as she takes on the GM role.”

Lynne said, “I am proud and delighted to accept the position of General Manager at Lewes FC. This Club is special beyond measure and it's a privilege to be entrusted with the role. It is my great fortune to inherit the best group of people that you could ever wish to work with both on and off the pitch. I am so grateful for everything that our staff, players, volunteers, fans, owners and Directors have done and continue to do to make this Club such a unique place.

This promises to be another exciting season with a fiercely competitive Women's Championship campaign ahead and I can't wait to have our fans back in the stadium. We have missed you!”
